Summary: 

• Provides technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft systems to minimize schedule impact. Implements process changes to reduce costs and maintain safety and quality standards.

• May fill in for the Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician as needed.

• Test and troubleshoot avionics and aircraft systems.

• Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications, ensuring defect-free systems.

• Perform repairs and replacement of defective components and wiring using techniques such as splicing, soldering, and pinning.

• Operate test equipment for performance evaluations, ensuring compliance with documentation and inspections.

• Maintain compliance with engineering changes, safety programs (FOD, tool control, 5-S), and quality standards.

• Adapt to schedule changes as needed.

• May assist with aircraft certification and flight tests.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• 4 years in avionics/electrical or 2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus 2 years related experience.

• A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license, FCC, and NCATT preferred.

• Preferred proficiency in troubleshooting non-avionics systems (e.g., hydraulics, landing gear).

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to climb stairs, work in confined areas, and lift up to 50 pounds.
