Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Assembly Mechanic
LOCATION: Kinston, NC
PAY RATE: $43/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Compensation: Pay + standard per diem of $110/week (for qualified candidates)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to assemble and install parts to quality requirements.

  • Complete required data entry to track assembly progression.

  • Perform manual and automated assembly operations and portable machine functions.

  • Handle rework, fabrication, change incorporation, and functional testing during or after assembly.

  • Move and obtain parts, tools, materials, and assemblies as needed.

  • Use precision measuring instruments.

  • Identify and report errors or issues in parts, tools, or assembly procedures.

  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance (e.g., replacing filters, light bulbs, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels).

  • Move products within the manufacturing work area using assigned equipment and complete transactions to advance production.

  • Support continuous workflow by training, coaching, and assisting employees across levels.

  • Document discrepancies per specifications and procedures.

  • Cross-train in inspection and achieve SIA qualification.

  • Employees may also be asked to take on additional duties as required by leadership. Training and certification will be provided when necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must have aircraft assembly mechanic experience 

  • Local candidates strongly preferred

  • Ability to work any assigned shift, including overtime/weekends as needed

  • Ability to stand and work for an entire 8-hour shift

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
